Amy is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of our community. She believes that every individual deserves to live in a secure environment. Amy prioritizes strengthening law enforcement and Fire Services by making sure they have the resources necessary to do their jobs effectively. During her terms the county has seen a new fire station, emergency communications center, several new fire apparatuses, body cameras for deputies, and a new morgue is forthcoming.
Addressing homelessness is a pressing issue that requires our immediate attention and compassionate action. As your Supervisor Amy has been committed to tackling this complex problem head-on.
Amy chairs the County’s Task Force on Homelessness where several agencies come together and work on real solutions.
Amy believes in a comprehensive approach that combines outreach, affordable housing initiatives, and support services. We need to work collaboratively with local organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to provide shelter, job training, mental health support, and substance abuse treatment to those in need.
Fueling economic growth and creating opportunities for prosperity are vital to the success of our community. Amy is committed to driving sustainable economic development that benefits all residents and businesses.
Amy has been supportive of the Sequoia Gateway project at the Caldwell and 99 interchange which will include Valley Childrens Hospital Speciality clinic, Kaweah Health Surgery center, and multiple retailers.
Amy was also instrumental in the decision to sell the abandoned county courthouse that has been transformed by private investors into the award-winning boutique hotel The Darling in Downtown Visalia.
Improving the quality of life for all residents in Tulare County is a priority for Amy. She believes that everyone deserves access to essential resources, a safe environment, and opportunities for personal growth. Amy is committed to working towards affordable housing options, reliable and efficient public transportation, accessible health care services and vibrant recreation spaces.
Amy supported the county investing $8,000,000 into county parks with new and refurbished arbors, new BBQ’s, irrigation and landscape upgrades, and many new amenities.
Amy recognizes the critical importance of efficient transportation and circulation systems in our community. Amy works collaboratively with stakeholders to utilize innovative solutions to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and enhance connectivity. Amy chairs the Tulare County Association of Governments that works to leverage funding to complete transportation projects throughout Tulare County. Amy's advocacy with transportation agencies in Sacramento has helped to bring millions of dollars to Tulare County
